Loans for Artisans in Dharwad District Under PM Vishwakarma Scheme, Details
Dharwad: To increase employment and production of artisans in urban and rural areas, the central government has launched a new scheme called PM Vishwakarma, and artisans engaged in various traditional industries in the district should register for the PM Vishwakarma scheme online, said District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Swaroop T.K.
She was speaking at the inauguration of the PM Vishwakarma new scheme training program organized by the District Industries and Commerce Department for gram panchayat development officers and secretaries and officials of urban local bodies at the District Panchayat meeting hall.
Under the new scheme of the Central Government, PM Vishwakarma, a loan facility of up to one lakh rupees at an interest rate of 5% is available and a free tool kit of Rs. 15,000 is provided. She informed the village panchayat presidents to identify and select such eligible artisans who are engaged in occupations such as blacksmiths, goldsmiths, potters, carpenters, sculptors, etc., which include several artisans in the Indian economy.
In the PM Vishwakarma scheme, 18 activities have been identified, and if there are activities that are not included in this, they will be brought to the attention of the state-level selection committee. Those above 18 years of age can register for this scheme, and only one person per family is eligible. Families of government employees are ineligible for this scheme. It can be registered for free.
